This document describes the features and characteristics of HD Audio SoundMAX® Codec AD1981HD Rev. 0, including DAC channels, ADC channels, sample rates, dynamic range, S/PDIF output, etc.

The AD1981HD Rev. 0 audio codec supports high-definition audio with up to 24-bit 48 kHz audio sample rates and features two DAC channels and two ADC channels, as well as greater than 90 dB dynamic range. It also includes a digital beep and analog PC beep pass-through, integrated headphone amplifiers, selectable microphone and line inputs, a full analog mixer, legacy CD and auxiliary inputs, and external amplifier power-down (EAPD). The device is packaged in a 48-pin, lead-free LQFP package.
