DMCA and copyright policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
ManualLib respects the rights of copyright owners. If you believe a document on this site infringes your copyright, send us a notice as described below and we will act on it promptly.
1. How to send a takedown notice
Documents on ManualLib are collected from public sources on the web and shared by visitors (see where our manuals come from). We respond to notices of claimed infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512.
Only the copyright owner, or a person authorised to act for the owner, may file a notice. To be valid, it must be in writing and include all of the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (for example, the document title and the product it covers). For several works, a representative list is enough.
- The exact address (URL) of each page or file on ManualLib that you want removed.
- Your name, company, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is sufficient).
2. Where to send it
Copyright notices
ManualLib.com, operated by BODA High-Tech Computer Inc.
Attn: Copyright Agent
Email: [email protected] (fastest)
If you need to send a notice by post, email us and we will give you the mailing address.
Please put "DMCA notice" in the subject line. Notices sent elsewhere, or missing any of the items above, may be delayed or may not be actionable.
3. What we do when we receive a notice
- We review each notice and respond expeditiously, normally within three business days.
- If the notice is valid, we remove or disable access to the document and the pages that offer it.
- Where the document was uploaded by a visitor who left contact details, we tell them it was removed and may pass on a copy of the notice.
4. Counter-notice
If a document you uploaded was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address containing:
- The document that was removed and the address where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed because of a mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, postal address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any district in which ManualLib may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We forward a valid counter-notice to the person who filed the original notice. Unless they tell us they have filed a court action, we may restore the material 10 to 14 business days later.
5. Repeat infringers
We stop accepting uploads from, and remove the contributions of, anyone who repeatedly submits infringing material.
6. Misrepresentation
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. If you are unsure whether material infringes your rights, consider seeking legal advice first.
7. Removal requests that are not about copyright
You do not need a formal DMCA notice to ask us to replace an outdated manual, correct a listing, or take down a document that contains personal data or was never meant to be public. Use Report an error or the contact page. Manufacturers are welcome to write to us directly.
