Philips MF1 IC S50 Functional Specification

Datasheet 18 pages · 146 KB · EN

The MF1 IC S50 is a contactless smart‑card IC designed for payment and ticketing applications. It operates at 13.56 MHz with a high‑speed 106 kBaud RF interface, allowing transactions within 100 mm of a reader in less than 0.1 s. The device includes built‑in security such as three‑pass authentication, data encryption, and unique serial numbers.

Memory is organized into 16 sectors, each containing four 16‑byte blocks, for a total of 8 Kbit EEPROM. The IC provides flexible access conditions, multi‑application support, and a data retention of 10 years with a write endurance of 100 000 cycles. Typical transaction times are 3 ms for identification, 2.5 ms to read a block, and 8.5 ms to write a block.
