Agilent The New Agilent 7500ce ICP-MS-Revolutionizing Environmental Trace Metal Analysis (Technical Feature) Manual

User Manual

The 7500ce ICP-MS from Agilent Technologies is designed for the analysis of environmental, clinical, and other high matrix samples, providing the best detection limits for trace elements in challenging sample types such as wastewater, seawater, soils, foods, and biological samples. It features a user-friendly Octopole Reaction System (ORS) for interference removal in high matrix samples, redesigned ion optics, and a high transmission reaction cell, resulting in a 5x sensitivity increase compared to its predecessor. The 7500ce also incorporates Agilent's Active Flow Control system for plasma and cell gas control, and a new digital-drive RF generator for high coupling efficiency. It is configured to meet strict environmental regulatory requirements, including those set by the US EPA.

Agilent The Analysis of Carbonate Associated Sulfur by 7500ce ORS-ICP-MS

User Manual

This report outlines preliminary methodology and results for the analysis of four samples for all three isotopes of sulfur in carbonate matrices using the 7500ce Octopole Reaction System (ORS) with xenon as the cell gas. Xenon was used to react with oxygen in order to attenuate the O2-derived polyatomic interferences at masses 32, 33, and 34. Consequently, each sulfur isotope was analyzed on-mass, leading to highly reproducible results.

Agilent Direct Elemental Analysis of Gasoline by Agilent 7500ce ORS ICP-MS Manual

User Manual

The Agilent 7500ce ICP-MS is shown to be an excellent analytical tool for the elemental analysis of gasoline. It offers the best detection limits of any multi-element tech- nique and a full elemental analysis suite that takes less than 5 minutes to acquire. The Octopole Reaction System (ORS), integral to the 7500ce, ensures that a single method and set of conditions can be used to directly determine all elements of interest in the sample. Comparison data for selected elements in both gas mode and no-gas mode highlight the effectiveness of the ORS for interference removal. Results showing the excellent long-term stability of the 7500ce ORS are also given.
