The ADM1170 is a hot swap controller that allows safe insertion and removal of a board from a live backplane. It controls supply voltages from 0.6V to 16.5V and has a supply voltage range from 2.7V to 16.5V. It features true soft start controls for inrush current profile, adjustable analog current limit with circuit breaker, fast response limits peak fault current, automatic retry or latch-off on current fault, charge pumped gate drive for external N-FET switch, and undervoltage lockout. The ADM1170 is suitable for hot swap board insertion, electronic circuit breaker, and industrial high side switch/circuit breaker.
