The AD7879/AD7889 series are 12‑bit successive‑approximation ADCs designed for 4‑wire resistive touch‑screen interfaces. They operate from a single 1.6 V to 3.6 V supply, provide up to 105 kSPS throughput, and include programmable median and averaging filters, temperature and touch‑pressure measurement, and a shutdown mode drawing less than 6 µA.

Typical applications include personal digital assistants, handheld devices, point‑of‑sale terminals, medical devices, and cell phones. The devices are offered in 12‑ball WLCSP and 16‑lead LFCSP packages and support both SPI and I²C serial interfaces.
