Texas Instruments TL16C552A/TL16C552AM Dual Asynchronous Communications Element Datasheet
The TL16C552A and TL16C552AM are enhanced dual-channel versions of the popular TL16C550B asynchronous communications element (ACE). These devices serve two serial input/output interfaces simultaneously in microcomputer or microprocessor-based systems, performing serial-to-parallel conversion on received data and parallel-to-serial conversion on transmitted data. The complete status of each channel can be read at any time during functional operation by the CPU, including transfer operation conditions and error states.
