Texas Instruments bq2000T Fast-Charge Management IC Datasheet
The bq2000T is a versatile, multi-chemistry battery charge control device designed for safe management of nickel cadmium (NiCd), nickel metal-hydride (NiMH), or lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery packs. It detects the battery chemistry and proceeds with optimal charging and termination algorithms to eliminate undercharged or overcharged conditions.
The integrated high-frequency comparator allows the bq2000T to serve as the basis for a complete, high-efficiency power-conversion circuit. The device provides various charge termination criteria depending on the chemistry, including rate of temperature rise (AT/At) for NiCd/NiMH and minimum current or maximum temperature/time limits for Li-Ion batteries.
