Questions answered in these manuals

What is the maximum operating temperature range for the IC?

The device can operate from –25 °C to +150 °C (junction temperature).

From: STMicroelectronics L6563/L6563A Advanced Transition‑Mode PFC Controller Datasheet

What is the supply voltage range for the L6563/L6563A?

The device operates with a supply voltage between 10.3 V and 22 V.

From: ST L6563/L6563A Advanced Transition‑Mode PFC Controller Datasheet

What start‑up current does the controller draw?

The start‑up current is specified as 50 µA to 90 µA.

From: ST L6563/L6563A Advanced Transition‑Mode PFC Controller Datasheet

What protection does the L6563 have that the L6563A lacks?

The L6563 includes an inductor‑saturation detection function that stops the PFC stage if the boost inductor saturates; this function is not present in the L6563A.

From: STMicroelectronics L6563/L6563A Advanced Transition‑Mode PFC Controller Datasheet

How does the remote ON/OFF control work?

A voltage below 0.52 V on the RUN pin shuts down the IC (non‑latched) and reduces consumption; the IC restarts when the voltage rises above 0.6 V.
