The L5970D is a step-down switching regulator capable of delivering up to 1A output current and operating input voltage range from 4.4V to 36V. It uses an internal P-Channel D-MOS transistor as the switching element to minimize the size of external components. With a minimum input voltage of 4.4V, it is particularly suitable for 5V bus in computer-related applications. The device has a fixed switching frequency of 250KHz and operates at 100% duty cycle for low dropout operation. It also features various protections and synchronization.

L5970D is a low dropout step down monolithic power switching regulator from STMicroelectronics that can deliver up to 1A at output voltages from 1.2V to 35V.
