Maxim MAX3388E/MAX3389E RS-232 Transceiver Datasheet
The MAX3388E and MAX3389E are 2.5 V‑powered RS‑232 transceivers designed for PDAs, cell phones and other battery‑powered equipment. They provide two receivers, three transmitters, and a dedicated logic‑level I/O pin (VL) for mixed‑voltage systems, with an internal 62 Ω switch for powering external circuitry.
The devices offer up to 460 kbps data rates, ±15 kV ESD protection (Human Body Model, Air‑Gap, and Contact methods), and a shutdown supply current of less than 1 µA. They are supplied in a 24‑pin TSSOP package and include detailed pin descriptions, timing charts, and application notes for handheld and sub‑notebook designs.
