The MAX3388E/MAX3389E are 2.5V-powered EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 communications interfaces with low power requirements, high data-rate capabilities, and enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection.
The MAX3388E and MAX3389E are low‑power, 2.5 V‑operated RS‑232 and V.28V.24 transceivers with enhanced ESD protection up to +15 kV. Each device includes two receivers, three transmitters, dedicated logic‑level I/O pins, and an internal dual charge‑pump that generates ±4.2 V supplies from a 2.5‑3.0 V input.
These parts are targeted at sub‑notebook, PDA, and cell‑phone applications where space is limited and power consumption must be minimal. They support data rates up to 460 kbps, feature a VL pin for mixed‑voltage compatibility, and are supplied in a 24‑lead TSSOP package.
