Maxim MAX2686/MAX2688 GPS/GNSS Low-Noise Amplifier Datasheet
The MAX2686 and MAX2688 are low‑noise amplifiers (LNAs) designed for GPS L1, Galileo, and GLONASS applications. They operate from a single‑supply voltage of 1.6 V to 3.3 V and are available in a tiny 0.86 mm × 0.86 mm × 0.65 mm wafer‑level package (WLP). Typical applications include automotive navigation, telematics, personal navigation devices, cellular phones with GPS, and notebook PCs.
Key features include a high gain of 19 dB (MAX2686) or 15 dB (MAX2688), ultra‑low noise figures of 0.75 dB (MAX2686) and 0.8 dB (MAX2688), an optional shutdown mode that reduces supply current to less than 10 µA, and a low bill‑of‑materials design requiring only one inductor and two capacitors. The devices provide integrated 50 Ω output matching and are RoHS‑compliant.
