Maxim MAX3311/MAX3313 Datasheet
The MAX3311 and MAX3313 are low‑power, +5 V EIA/TIA‑232‑compatible transceivers that integrate a single transmitter and receiver in a 10‑pin µMAX package. They operate from a single +5 V supply using an inverting charge‑pump that requires only two 0.1 µF capacitors, and they support data rates up to 460 kbps while maintaining RS‑232‑compatible voltage levels.
The MAX3311 includes a 1 µA shutdown mode that disables the transmitter and pulls the charge‑pump output to ground, whereas the MAX3313 provides an INVALID output that goes high when a valid RS‑232 signal is present on the receiver input. Detailed electrical, timing, and operating characteristics are provided, along with pin descriptions and typical application circuits.
