Maxim MAX3190/MAX3190E RS-232 Transmitter Datasheet
The MAX3190 and MAX3190E are single‑channel RS‑232 transmitters designed for space‑ and cost‑constrained applications. They operate from ±7.5 V to ±12 V supplies, draw only 200 µA of supply current, and provide RS‑232‑compatible outputs up to 460 kbps. The MAX3190E version adds enhanced ESD protection.
The devices feature an active‑low shutdown input that reduces supply current to 0.4 µA and places the output in a high‑impedance state, allowing other transmitters to share the line. They are supplied in a 6‑pin SOT23‑6 package and are rated for operation from –40 °C to +85 °C.
