ST LPY450AL MEMS motion sensor: dual-axis pitch yaw ±500 dps analog gyroscope handbook
The LPY450AL is a low-power dual-axis micromachined gyroscope capable of measuring angular rate along pitch and yaw axes. It provides excellent temperature stability and high resolution over an extended operating temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C. The device includes a sensing element composed of a single driving mass, kept in continuous oscillation and capable of reacting, based on the Coriolis principle, when an angular rate is applied.
A CMOS IC provides the measured angular rate to the external world through an analog output voltage, allowing high levels of integration and production trimming to better match sensing element characteristics. The LPY450AL is available in a plastic land grid array (LGA) package and features two separate outputs for each axis (1x and 4x amplified), integrated low-pass filters, and embedded power-down and self-test functions.
