This datasheet provides details about the characteristics and specifications of the SN54AHCT245 and SN74AHCT245 octal bus transceivers. Both devices are asynchronous, bidirectional data bus transceivers that can transmit data from the A bus to the B bus or from the B bus to the A bus, depending on the logic level at the direction-control input.

The SN74AHCT245 and SN54AHCT245 are octal bus transceivers designed for asynchronous two-way communication between data buses. The control-function implementation minimizes external timing requirements. The ’AHCT245 devices allow data transmission from the A bus to the B bus or from the B bus to the A bus, depending on the logic level at the direction-control (DIR) input. The output-enable (OE) input can be used to disable the device so that the buses effectively are isolated.
