Maxim Integrated MAX710/MAX711 Step-Up/Down DC-DC Converter Datasheet
The MAX710 and MAX711 integrate a step‑up DC‑DC converter with a linear regulator to provide step‑up/down voltage conversion for battery‑powered devices. They accept an input voltage from +1.8 V to +11 V and can deliver either a fixed 3.3 V/5 V output (MAX710) or an adjustable 2.7 V‑5.5 V output (MAX711). Typical efficiency when boosting a battery is about 85 %.
Both devices offer configurable modes for low‑noise or high‑efficiency operation via the N/E pin, and include shutdown and standby controls that reduce quiescent current to 0.2 µA and 7 µA respectively. The 16‑pin narrow SO package contains pins for power MOSFET drain, limit selection, feedback, and comparator functions, enabling flexible design integration.
