Maxim MAX3314 RS-232-Compatible Transceiver Datasheet
The MAX3314 provides a single transmitter and receiver in a flow‑through architecture, delivering RS‑232‑compatible ±3.7 V output levels while driving 3 kΩ and 1000 pF loads at up to 460 kbps. It operates from external ±5 V supplies and includes a shutdown (SHDN) function that reduces supply current to 1 µA while keeping the receiver active.
The device is offered in 8‑pin SOT‑23, µMAX and SO packages and features low operating currents (30 µA typical in shutdown) and a wide temperature range (‑40 °C to +85 °C for some packages). Detailed electrical, timing, and package specifications are provided for designers.
