MAXIM MAX3869 +3.3V 2.5Gbps SDH/SONET Laser Driver with Current Monitors APC handbook

Datasheet

The MAX3869 is a complete, single +3.3V laser driver for SDH/SONET applications up to 2.5Gbps. The device accepts differential PECL data and clock inputs and provides bias and modulation currents for driving a laser. A synchronizing input latch can be used (if a clock signal is available) to reduce jitter. An automatic power control (APC) feedback loop is incorporated to maintain a constant average optical power over temperature and lifetime. The wide modulation current range of 5mA to 60mA and bias current of 1mA to 100mA are easy to program, making this product ideal for use in various SDH/SONET applications. The MAX3869 also provides enable control, two current monitors that are directly proportional to the laser bias and modulation currents, and a failure-monitor output to indicate when the APC loop is unable to maintain the average optical power. The MAX3869 is available in 32-pin TQFP and small 32-pin QFN packages as well as dice.

MAXIM MAX3784/MAX3784A 5Gbps PCB Equalizer handbook

Datasheet

The MAX3784/MAX3784A 5Gbps equalizers provide compensation for transmission-medium losses in up to 40in of FR-4. They are optimized for short-run length and balanced codes such as 8b10b, as found in multiplexed 1.25Gbps Ethernet systems and 4.25Gbps Fibre Channel. The equalizers use differential CML data inputs and outputs. A standby mode reduces power consumption when the parts are not in use. The MAX3784/ MAX3784A are available in a 4mm × 4mm, 16-pin QFN package that consumes only 185mW at +3.3V.

MAXIM MAX3273† +3.3V 2.5Gbps Low-Power Laser Driver Manual

User Manual

The MAX3273 is a compact, low-power laser driver for applications up to 2.7Gbps. The device uses a single +3.3V supply and typically consumes 30mA. The bias and modulation current levels are programmed by external resistors. An automatic power-control (APC) loop is incorporated to maintain a constant average optical power over temperature and lifetime. The laser driver is fabricated using Maxim’s in-house, second-generation SiGe process. The MAX3273 accepts differential CML-compatible clock and data input signals. Inputs are self-biased to allow AC-coupling. An input data-retiming latch can be enabled to reject input jitter if a clock signal is available. The driver can provide bias current up to 100mA and modulation current up to 60mAP-P with typical (20% to 80%) edge speeds of 59ps. A failure-monitor output is provided to indicate when the APC loop is unable to maintain average optical power. The MAX3273 is available in a 4mm✕4mm, 24-pin QFN package, as well as in die form.

MAXIM +3.3V 2.5Gbps Low-Power Limiting Amplifiers MAX3272/MAX3272A Manual

User Manual

The MAX3272/MAX3272A is a 2.5Gbps limiting amplifier that uses a single +3.3V power supply and consumes only 33mA. It features 5ps deterministic jitter, 90ps edge speed, programmable loss of signal function, CML output interface, 20-pin 4mm x 4mm QFN or thin QFN package, and selectable output polarity.
