The MAX7314 is a 16-bit I/O expander from TI that supports I2C bus interface. This device can be configured as output ports or input ports, output ports can drive LEDs, and input ports can detect logic levels. The MAX7314 has a built-in 8-bit PWM current control that can be used to control the current of all 17 output ports.
