STMicroelectronics STCC08 AC Switch Failure Mode Detector Datasheet
The STCC08 is an integrated circuit designed to drive AC switches and detect failure modes such as diode mode, short circuit, and open switch conditions. It is compatible with ACS, ACST, and TRIAC devices and can be powered by 3.3 V or 5 V supplies. The device features a gate driver output with a maximum sink current of 28 mA and allows for adjustable gate drive current via an external resistor.
The component helps home appliances comply with IEC 60335-1 and IEC 60730-1 safety standards by enabling the microcontroller to sense all AC switch failure modes. It is available in an SO-8 SMD package and can be easily interfaced directly with an MCU or through an opto-coupler for insulated applications.
