MAXIM MAX1421 12-Bit 40Msps 3.3V Low-Power ADC with Internal Reference handbook

Datasheet

The MAX1421 is a 3.3V, 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with a fully-differential input, pipelined, 12-stage ADC architecture. It features wideband track-and-hold (T/H) and digital error correction with a fully-differential signal path. The MAX1421 is designed for low-power, high-dynamic performance applications in imaging and digital communications. It operates from a single 3.3V supply, consuming only 188mW of power while delivering a typical signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 66dB at an input frequency of 15MHz and a sampling frequency of 40Msps. The fully-differential input stage has a small signal -3dB bandwidth of 400MHz and can be operated with single-ended inputs. It uses an internal 2.048V precision bandgap reference to set the full-scale range of the ADC. The reference structure is flexible and can accommodate an internal or externally applied buffered or unbuffered reference for applications requiring increased accuracy or a different input voltage range. In addition to low operating power, the MAX1421 offers two power-down modes: reference power-down and shutdown mode. In reference power-down mode, the internal bandgap reference is deactivated, resulting in a typical 2mA supply current reduction. For idle periods, a full shutdown mode is available to maximize power savings. The MAX1421 provides parallel, offset binary, CMOS-compatible three-state outputs. It is available in a 7mm x 7mm, 48-pin TQFP package.

MAXIM MAX1183 Dual 10-Bit 40Msps 3V Low-Power ADC with Internal Reference Parallel Outputs handbook

Datasheet

The MAX1183 is a 3V, dual 10-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) featuring fully differential wideband track- and-hold (T/H) inputs, driving two pipelined, nine-stage ADCs. The MAX1183 is optimized for low-power, high dynamic performance applications in imaging, instrumen- tation, and digital communication applications. This ADC operates from a single 2.7V to 3.6V supply, consuming only 120mW while delivering a typical signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 59.6dB at an input frequency of 20MHz and a sampling rate of 40Msps. The T/H driven input stages incorporate 400MHz (-3dB) input amplifiers. The convert- ers may also be operated with single-ended inputs. In addition to low operating power, the MAX1183 features a 2.8mA sleep mode as well as a 1µA power-down mode to conserve power during idle periods. An internal 2.048V precision bandgap reference sets the full-scale range of the ADC. A flexible reference structure allows the use of this internal or an externally derived reference, if desired for applications requiring increased accuracy or a different input voltage range. The MAX1183 features parallel, CMOS-compatible three-state outputs. The digital output format can be set to two’s complement or straight offset binary through a single control pin. The device provides for a separate output power supply of 1.7V to 3.6V for flexible interfac- ing. The MAX1183 is available in a 7mm ✕ 7mm, 48-pin TQFP package, and is specified for the extended industrial (-40°C to 125°C) temperature range.

MAXIM MAX1195 Dual 8-Bit 40Msps 3V Low-Power ADC with Internal Reference Parallel Outputs handbook

Datasheet

The MAX1195 is a 3V, dual, 8-bit analog-to-digital con- verter (ADC) featuring fully differential wideband track- and-hold (T/H) inputs, driving two ADCs. The MAX1195 is optimized for low-power, small size, and high-dynamic performance for applications in imaging, instrumentation and digital communications. This ADC operates from a single 2.7V to 3.6V supply, consuming only 87mW while delivering a typical signal-to-noise and distortion (SINAD) of 48.5dB at an input frequency of 20MHz and a sam- pling rate of 40Msps. The T/H-driven input stages incor- porate 400MHz (-3dB) input amplifiers. The converters may also be operated with single-ended inputs. In addi- tion to low operating power, the MAX1195 features a 3mA sleep mode as well as a 0.1µA power-down mode to conserve power during idle periods. An internal 2.048V precision bandgap reference sets the full-scale range of the ADC. A flexible reference structure allows the use of this internal or an externally applied reference, if desired, for applications requiring increased accuracy or a different input voltage range. The MAX1195 features parallel, CMOS-compatible three- state outputs. The digital output format can be set to two’s complement or straight offset binary through a single con- trol pin. The device provides for a separate output power supply of 1.7V to 3.6V for flexible interfacing with various logic families. The MAX1195 is available in a 7mm x 7mm, 48-pin TQFP package, and is specified for th
