Linear Technology LTC1422 Hot Swap Controller Datasheet
The LTC1422 is an 8-pin Hot Swap controller designed to allow a board to be safely inserted and removed from a live backplane. It uses an external N-channel pass transistor to ramp the board supply voltage at a programmable rate, controlled by a high-side driver for supply voltages ranging from 2.7V to 12V.
The device includes a programmable electronic circuit breaker to protect against shorts and a system reset output with a programmable delay. It features a user-programmable supply voltage power-up rate, undervoltage lockout, and a soft reset input with a glitch filter. The LTC1422 is available in 8-pin PDIP and SO packages.
