The Extech RF18 Brix Refractometer is a precision optical instrument that measures the refractive index of a sample, displayed as % Brix. It requires zero adjustment before use and the prism should be cleaned with a soft cloth. The sucrose concentration is determined by observing the boundary of the light and dark fields on the scale.
