The TLP115A is a small outline coupler suitable for surface mount assembly. It is designed for high speed, long distance isolated line receiver, microprocessor system interfaces, digital isolation, A/D and D/A conversion, computer-peripheral interfaces, and ground loop elimination. The coupler consists of a high output power GaAℓAs light emitting diode and an integrated high gain, high speed shielded photo detector with an output of an open collector schottky clamped transistor. The shield provides a guaranteed transient immunity specification of 1000V/µs by shunting capacirively coupled common noise to ground.
