The AD590 is an integrated-circuit temperature transducer that produces an output current proportional to absolute temperature. It features linear current output, a wide temperature range, a two-terminal device with voltage input and current output, a wide power supply range, sensor isolation from the case, and low cost.

AD590 is an integrated circuit temperature transducer that produces an output current proportional to absolute temperature. It is a high impedance constant current regulator, passing 1μA/oK for supply voltages between +4V and +30V. AD590 can be used in any temperature-sensing application between -55°C to 150°C in which conventional electrical temperature sensors are currently employed. AD590's low cost, monolithic integrated circuit design and elimination of support circuitry make it an attractive alternative for many temperature measurement situations. AD590 does not need linearization circuitry, precision voltage amplifiers, resistance measuring circuitry and cold junction compensation in temperature measurement. AD590 can also be used for temperature compensation or correction.
