Intersil X5083 CPU Supervisor with EEPROM Datasheet
The Intersil X5083 is an integrated circuit that combines four popular functions into one package: Power-on Reset Control, Watchdog Timer, Supply Voltage Supervision, and Block Lock Serial EEPROM Memory. This combination lowers system cost, reduces board space requirements, and increases reliability for various applications including communications equipment and industrial systems.
The device features a low Vcc detection circuitry that protects the user's system from low voltage conditions by resetting the system when Vcc falls below the minimum trip point. It also includes a selectable time-out watchdog timer to provide an independent protection mechanism for microcontrollers, ensuring they restart if they fail to reset the timer within a selected interval.
