NEC ED2/EF2 Series Miniature Signal Relay Datasheet
The ED2/EF2 series from NEC are ultra‑low‑power miniature signal relays available in through‑hole (ED2) and surface‑mount (EF2) versions. They feature 50 mW power consumption, high breakdown voltage, and a 20‑year joint life under specified temperature conditions. Applications include electronic switching systems, PBX, telephone equipment, and other instrumental devices.
The datasheet details dimensions, pad layouts, pin configurations, marking conventions, safety ratings (UL, CSA), and extensive performance data such as switching power, voltage, current, insulation resistance, contact material, temperature ranges, and coil voltage options.

Questions answered in these manuals
What is the power consumption of the ED2/EF2 relays?
Non‑latch types consume 50 to 70 mW, single‑coil latch types 30 to 80 mW, and double‑coil latch types 50 to 80 mW.
What are the maximum switching ratings?
The relays can switch up to 30 W (resistive), 220 Vdc or 250 Vac, and a maximum current of 1 A.
What relay series are covered in this handbook?
The handbook covers the ED2 series (DIP type) and the EF2 series (SMD type) miniature signal relays.
