ST STMPE801 8-bit port expander Xpander logic handbook
The STMPE801 is a GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output) port expander that can interface with a main digital ASIC via the two-line bidirectional bus (I2C). A separate GPIO Expander IC is often used in Mobile-Multimedia platforms to solve the problems of the limited amounts of GPIOs usually available on the Digital Engine. The STMPE801 offers great flexibility as each I/O is configurable as input or output. This device has been designed with very low quiescent current and includes a wake-up feature for each I/O to optimize the power consumption of the IC.

Questions answered in these manuals
What is the function of the RESET_N pin?
The Reset pin is an active low input that should be tied HIGH to VIO supply to start normal operation.
From: ST AN2466 handbook
How is the interrupt output polarity configured?
The interrupt output polarity can be configured as active low or active high by setting Bit 0 of the SYSCON register.
From: ST AN2466 handbook
What is the recommended power sequence for the STMPE801?
It is necessary to turn on supply to VIO first and then follow with VCC if they are connected to different supply voltages.
What is the minimum pulse width for an external reset signal?
The minimum pulse width of the external reset signal is 100 us.
