Microchip TC72 Digital Temperature Sensor Datasheet
The TC72 is a digital temperature sensor that communicates via a SPI‑compatible serial interface. It provides 10‑bit resolution (0.25 °C per bit) and offers ±2 °C accuracy from –40 °C to +85 °C and ±3 °C accuracy from –55 °C to +125 °C. The device can operate in continuous conversion mode, updating temperature roughly every 150 ms, or in a low‑power one‑shot mode.
The sensor is offered in two compact 8‑pin packages: a standard MSOP and a space‑saving 3 × 3 mm DFN. It is suited for a wide range of applications such as PCs, servers, hard‑disk drives, entertainment systems, mobile phones and general‑purpose temperature monitoring.

Questions answered in these manuals
How is temperature data represented by the TC72?
Temperature data is output as a 10‑bit two’s‑complement word with a resolution of 0.25 °C per bit.
What temperature range can the TC72 measure?
The TC72 can measure temperatures from –55 °C to +125 °C.
How does the SPI data transfer work in the TC72?
Data is shifted on the rising edge of SCK and clocked on the falling edge when CP = 0.
