The TC72 is a digital temperature sensor capable of reading temperatures from -55°C to +125°C. This sensor features a serial interface that allows communication with a host controller or other peripherals. The TC72 interface is compatible with the SPI protocol. The TC72 does not require any additional external components. However, it is recommended that a decoupling capacitor of 0.01 µF to 0.1 µF be provided between the VDD and GND pins. The TC72 can be used either in a Continuous Temperature Conversion mode or a One-Shot Conversion mode. The Continuous Conversion mode measures the temperature approximately every 150 ms and stores the data in the temperature registers. In contrast, the One-Shot mode performs a s
The TC72 is a digital temperature sensor that communicates via a SPI‑compatible serial interface. It provides 10‑bit resolution (0.25 °C per bit) and offers ±2 °C accuracy from –40 °C to +85 °C and ±3 °C accuracy from –55 °C to +125 °C. The device can operate in continuous conversion mode, updating temperature roughly every 150 ms, or in a low‑power one‑shot mode.
The sensor is offered in two compact 8‑pin packages: a standard MSOP and a space‑saving 3 × 3 mm DFN. It is suited for a wide range of applications such as PCs, servers, hard‑disk drives, entertainment systems, mobile phones and general‑purpose temperature monitoring.
