National Semiconductor LM1889 TV Video Modulator Datasheet
The LM1889 is a TV video modulator designed to interface audio, color difference, and luminance signals to the antenna terminals of a TV receiver. It includes a sound subcarrier oscillator, chroma subcarrier oscillator, quadrature chroma modulators, and RF oscillators for two low‑VHF channels, allowing video sources such as VTRs, games, or test equipment to be displayed on black‑and‑white or color TVs.
The device operates from a 12 V to 18 V supply, provides a 5 Vp‑p chroma reference signal, and supports RF carrier frequencies up to 100 MHz. Key electrical characteristics include a maximum supply current of 45 mA and a crystal‑controlled chroma oscillator frequency of 3.579545 MHz.
