This paper introduces a new high-capacity affinity column for the removal of 14 high-abundant proteins from human biological samples. This column can effectively remove 14 high-abundant proteins, thereby improving the detection sensitivity of low-abundance proteins.
Agilent Technologies presents the Human 14 Multiple Affinity Removal System, a device designed for the specific depletion of 14 high-abundant proteins from human serum and plasma samples. This column extends the capabilities of the previous Human 6 and Human 7 devices by removing approximately 94% of the total protein mass, thereby improving the dynamic range for the detection of low-abundant proteins in proteomic studies.
| Average Column Capacity | 40 uL of plasma or serum |
|---|---|
| Total Protein Depletion | Approximately 94% |
| Column Lifetime | Over 200 runs |
It depletes 14 high-abundant proteins including HSA, transferrin, haptoglobin, IgG, IgA, alpha-1-antitrypsin, fibrinogen, alpha-2-macroglobulin, alpha-acid glycoprotein, complement C3, IgM, apolipoprotein AI, apolipoprotein AII, and transthyretin.
The Human 14 column removes approximately 10% greater total protein content than the Human 6 column.
The column requires a two-buffer system: Buffer A (salt-containing neutral buffer, pH 7.4) for loading and washing, and Buffer B (low-pH urea buffer) for elution.
