National LM3501 Synchronous Step-up DC/DC Converter Datasheet
The LM3501 is a fixed‑frequency step‑up DC/DC converter designed for driving white LEDs in display backlighting, handheld devices, digital cameras and other portable applications. It operates from a single‑cell Li‑ion or 3‑cell NiMH battery (2.7 V‑7 V) and provides up to 21 V output, suitable for 2‑5 LEDs in series.
Key features include synchronous rectification with no external Schottky diode, a small 8‑bump thin‑film SMD package, true shutdown isolation, input undervoltage lockout, and internal over‑voltage protection. The device is supplied in micro‑SMD packages (TL‑08) with ordering options for 16 V (LM3501‑16) and 21 V (LM3501‑21) versions.
