About this manual

The TDA 5220 is a very low power consumption single‑chip FSK/ASK super‑heterodyne receiver designed for frequency bands 810‑870 MHz and 400‑440 MHz. It integrates a low‑noise amplifier, double‑balanced mixer, VCO, PLL synthesiser, crystal oscillator, limiter with RSSI generator, FSK demodulator, data filter, data slicer with selectable thresholds, and a peak detector, plus a power‑down feature for battery‑powered applications.

Key features include supply currents as low as 5.0 mA (ASK) or 5.7 mA (FSK) typical, a 5 V ±10 % supply range, 50 nA power‑down current, ASK sensitivity better than –106 dBm and FSK sensitivity better than –100 dBm over –40 °C to 105 °C, and selectable frequency ranges. Typical applications are keyless entry, remote control, alarm, and low‑bitrate communication systems.
