About this manual

The XC6801 Series provides constant‑current/constant‑voltage charging for single‑cell lithium‑ion batteries. It includes a reference voltage source, battery voltage monitor, driver transistor, over‑heat protection, and a phase‑compensation circuit. The charger terminates at 4.2 V ± 0.7 % and offers a trickle‑charge voltage of 2.9 V ± 3 %.

Typical applications include USB charge adapters, charging docks, MP3 players, cellular phones, PDAs, and Bluetooth headsets. The device is offered in SOT‑89‑5, SOT‑25, and USP‑6C packages and complies with EU RoHS and Pb‑free requirements.

Frequently asked questions

What charge currents can be selected with the XC6801?

The charge current is set via the LIM pin: 100 mA (L level) or 500 mA (H level) maximum.

What does the /CHG pin indicate?

The /CHG pin shows the charging state: strong pull‑down (~10 mA) during charge, weak pull‑down (~20 µA) in standby, and high‑impedance in shutdown.
