About this manual

The Bright-Glo™ Luciferase Assay System is designed for ultrahigh-throughput quantitation of luciferase expression in mammalian cells. It provides robust, homogeneous assay chemistry with high sensitivity and a signal half-life of approximately half an hour without prior sample processing. The system includes Bright-Glo™ Luciferase Assay Buffer and Substrate to form the reagent.

Frequently asked questions

What culture media are compatible with this assay?

The system is designed for use with RPMI 1640, MEM α, DMEM and Ham's F12 containing 0–10% serum.

How long should one wait after adding reagent before measuring?

Wait at least 2 minutes to allow complete cell lysis before measuring in a luminometer.

What is the approximate stability of reconstituted reagent?

It shows 10% loss per 5 hours at room temperature, 10% loss per 24 hours at 4°C, and <5% loss after one month at –70°C.
