This document is a specification sheet of Philips PCF1172C 31/2-digit LCD car clock
The PCF1172C is an integrated circuit designed to drive a 3-digit liquid crystal display (LCD) for car clocks. It features internal voltage regulation for the 5 V LCD, a 4.19 MHz oscillator, and two external switches for time setting functions.
The device operates in ambient temperatures from -40 to +85 °C and is available in a 40-lead plastic SMD package (VSO40) or as an uncased chip. It supports both single-set and continuous-set correction modes via switch configuration.
| Oscillator frequency | 4.19 MHz |
|---|---|
| Operating ambient temperature | -40 to +85 °C |
| Package type | 40-lead plastic SMD, face down (VSO40) |
| Supply voltage (internal regulation) | 5 V |
The circuit is battery-operated via an internal 5 V voltage regulator or by an external stabilized voltage supply.
Two external single-pole, single-throw switches will accomplish all time setting functions.
