This document describes the technical specifications of the UFA 1003/1503 series ultrasonic distance sensors and proximity switches, including measurement range, analog outputs, digital outputs, protection level, material-independent scanning, etc.
The UFA series provides compact ultrasonic distance sensors with a measurement range of 1000 mm (UFA1003) or 1500 mm (UFA1503). They feature 4‑20 mA or 0‑10 V analog outputs (invertible), a 7 Hz switching speed, IP67 housing made of polyamide or stainless steel, and a 400 ms response time. Optional synchronization (Y‑Version) allows multiple sensors to operate without mutual interference.
Installation is flexible with axial or radial mounting, using supplied M8 rubber gaskets. Sensors can be fitted with a 3‑ or 4‑pin M8 connector or an integrated cable, and the maximum cable length is about 100 m. Technical data, wiring diagrams and adjustment procedures for the analog end point and hysteresis are provided in the document. This manual is written in German.

The UFA 1003 sensor measures distances up to 1000 mm.
The end point of the analog output is set with a multi‑turn potentiometer, allowing a range of 500 mm to 1500 mm for the UFA1503.
The sensors use a 3‑ or 4‑pin M8 connector for screw‑ or snap‑mounting, or they can be supplied with an integrated cable.
