The document describes a non-contact eddy current sensor called CMSS, which is used for distance measurement on aluminum and steel. It has a measurement range of up to 7.6 mm, a linearity of less than 1%, a sensitivity of 200 mV / 25.4 µm, and is suitable for fast motion changes (up to 10 kHz). It operates in a temperature range of -35 to +177°C and is unaffected by non-metallic media in the measurement environment (such as water, oils, contamination, plastics). Additionally, it can be used for distance measurement on static and rotating objects, as well as for measuring imbalance and vibration, and non-contact quality control in automation.
