About this manual

The MAZ series magnetostrictive transducer uses an electric impulse to generate a circular magnetic field that interacts with a permanent magnet, causing magnetostriction in the waveguide. The resulting mechanical wave travels along the guide and is converted back into an electrical signal, enabling contact‑free, wear‑free absolute position measurement. The sensor is suited for hydraulic cylinders, machine tools, presses, woodworking, packaging, mining and other industrial applications.

Technical data include a measurement range from 100 mm to 4000 mm, linearity of 0.02 %, pressure rating up to 350 bar (over‑pressure 700 bar), IP67 protection, displacement speed under 10 m/s, resolution down to 5 µm (2 µm on request), and operating temperature from –40 °C to +70 °C. Output options cover analogue signals (0‑10 VDC, 4‑20 mA, 0‑20 mA) and digital interfaces (CANopen, SSI, start/stop, PWM).
