About this manual

The TDA5221 is a very low power consumption single‑chip FSK/ASK superheterodyne receiver for the frequency band 300 to 340 MHz. It integrates a low‑noise amplifier, double‑balanced mixer, VCO, PLL synthesiser, crystal oscillator, limiter with RSSI generator, demodulators, data filter, slicer and peak detector, plus a power‑down mode for ultra‑low standby current.

Typical applications include keyless entry, remote‑control, alarm and low‑bitrate communication systems. The device operates from a 5 V supply (±10%) and offers selectable frequency ranges of 300‑320 MHz and 320‑340 MHz, with ASK sensitivity better than –110 dBm and FSK sensitivity better than –102 dBm across –40 °C to +105 °C.
