This document introduces a solution for industrial power supplies fed by a three-phase mains. It uses a high voltage power MOSFET with 1500 V breakdown voltage to optimize the operation of a quasi-resonant flyback converter based on the primary controller L6565.

This application note describes a low power SMPS with a buck topology using STMicroelectronics’ VIPer16 fixed-frequency off-line converter as a main circuit.

This document describes the characteristics and performance of a 90 W wide range input AC-DC adapter based on asymmetrical half-bridge topology (AHB). The converter comprises a two-stage approach: a PFC front-end stage using the L6563 TM PFC controller and a DC-DC stage that implements the asymmetrical half-bridge (AHB) topology driven by the L6591, the new PWM controller dedicated to this architecture. Thanks to the AHB topology, the system offers good electrical performance (EPA 2.0 compliant) with a low-voltage and high-current output (12 V - 7.5 A). The order code for this demonstration board is EVL6591-90WADP.

AN2843 introduces the features and applications of the 12-channel capacitive touchkey controller STMPE1208S.

This application note provides a detailed description of LED dimming implemented on the STM32 microcontroller in combination with the STP24DP05 LED driver. It describes the general principles of LED dimming, with a focus on the use of pulse width modulation (PWM) for digital dimming, and compares the most common design approaches. The conclusion helps developers choose the best approach for their LED dimming application.

EVLVIP17-5WCHG is a 5W SMPS travel battery charger demonstration board based on the VIPER17HN off-line high voltage converter.

The L6228 is a fully-integrated stepper motor driver IC specifically developed to drive a wide range of two-phase (bipolar) stepper motors. This IC is a one-chip, cost-effective solution that includes several unique circuit design features. These features, including a decoding logic that can generate three different stepping sequences, allow the device to be used in many applications, including microstepping. The principal aim of this development project was to produce an easy-to-use, fully-protected power IC. In addition, several key functions, such as protection circuitry and PWM current control, drastically reduce the number of external components to meet requirements for many different applications. The L6228 is a highly-integrated, mixed-signal power IC that allows the user to easily design a complete motor control system for two-phase bipolar stepper motors.
