This application note describes the characteristics and features of a 130W demonstration board (EVL130W-STRLIG), tailored to an LED power supply specification for street lighting. The circuit is composed of two stages: a front-end PFC using the L6562AT and an LLC resonant converter based on the L6599AT. The strengths of this design are very high efficiency, wide input mains range (85-305 VAC) operation and long-term reliability.

High efficiency and energy-saving LED street lighting driver for the European market

This document is an application note about L6460 SPI configurable stepper and DC multi motor driver.

This document describes the EVAL2293Q demonstration board for the L2293Q push-pull four channel driver with integrated diodes. The L2293Q is designed to drive inductive loads such as DC and stepping motors, or relays and solenoids. The board implements a typical application which can be used as a reference design to drive two-phase bipolar stepper motors with currents up to 0.6 A DC, multiple DC motors and a wide range of inductive loads. Housed in a QFN 5 x 5 mm 32-lead package, the small footprint of the L2293Q makes the PCB very compact (24.5 x 24.5 mm).

This document describes the STEVAL-ISB009V1 demonstration board specifically designed for the STC3100 integrated circuit. It provides a brief description of the STC3100 device, a description of the demonstration board, a detailed bill of materials for the demonstration board, and the layout of the demonstration board.

This application note describes a demonstration board based on the transition-mode PFC controller L6563S and presents the results of its bench demonstration. The board implements a 100 W, wide-range mains input, PFC pre-conditioner suitable for ballast, adapters, flatscreen displays, and all SMPS having to meet the IEC61000-3-2 or the JEITA-MITI regulation. The L6563S is a current-mode PFC controller operating in transition mode (TM) and implementing an internal high-voltage startup circuitry.

This application note describes a demonstration board able to drive a 4 x 18 W linear T8 fluorescent tubes. The ballast is controlled by the new L6585DE IC that integrates the PFC and half-bridge control circuits, relevant drivers, and the circuitry that manages all the operating phases (preheating, ignition and run mode) of the lamp. Protections against failures such as lamp disconnection, anti-capacitive mode and PFC overvoltage are guaranteed and obtained with a minimum number of external components. In addition to the description of the circuit and design criteria, this document provides a short overview of the ballast performances.

This application note describes a demonstration board able to drive 2 x 58 W linear T8 fluorescent tubes. The last section of the document describes the changes that need to be made to adapt the same board for 2 x 36 W linear T8 fluorescent tubes.

This application note explains how to design a transition-mode PFC pre-regulator using the L6563S and L6563H. The L6563S and L6563H are the latest devices from STMicroelectronics for low and middle power applications such as lamp ballasts, high-end adapters, flatscreen TVs and monitors, PC power supplies, and all SMPS requiring harmonics reduction. The L6563S is a current-mode PFC controller operating in transition mode (TM) and is packaged in the same SO14 pinout as its predecessor L6563, offering improved performance and additional functions. The L6563H is the SO16 pinout version, embedding the same features as the L6563S with the addition of a high-voltage startup power source. These functions make the L6563H especially suitable for applications that need to be compliant with energy-saving regulations and where the PFC pre-regulator works as the master stage without an auxiliary SMPS.

This document describes the application of a constant current inverse buck LED driver using L6562A. It provides details on the main characteristics of L6562A and summarizes the relevant results obtained.

This application note describes an innovative analog solution for a complete ballast circuitry optimized to feed a 35 W high intensity discharge (HID) metal halide lamp (MHL), without making use of any microcontroller to regulate and control the lighting output. This circuitry is used on demonstration board STEVAL-ILH002V1 shown in figure 1. The lamps used for this design are a 35 W metal halide lamp CDM-T (Philips) and an HCI-T (Osram).

This application note describes a 5 V, 2 A application with 3.3 A peak current capability of 1.9 sec, using VIPer28, a new offline high-voltage converter from STMicroelectronics.
