This application note provides information about how to configure the general purpose timers (GPTs) integrated in the SPEAr600 embedded MPU family.

This application note provides PCB design guidelines for SPEAr1340, including power integrity, PCB layer stacking, vias, power and DDR interface.

This application note provides information on how to modify the evaluation board for SPEAr310 (EVALSPEAr310) rev 2.0 to enable remote system reset through the JTAG interface.

This application note explains how to calculate conduction losses in a power diode by taking into account the forward voltage dependence on temperature and the current waveform. The ideal current and voltage waveforms of an ultrafast diode in a power supply system during a switching cycle are shown in Figure 1.

This document describes the impact of power losses in output rectifiers on efficiency in power supplies, and how to select low forward voltage Schottky diodes with optimal performance.

This document discusses the Tj max limit of SCHOTTKY rectifiers specified in the datasheet, explaining the true meaning of this parameter and why the component can operate with a junction temperature higher than Tj max in certain applications. The document also describes the thermal runaway phenomenon that causes the lower Tj max limit and provides rules for calculating the limit before thermal instability is reached. Two examples are provided to illustrate how different conditions can lead to different Tj max limits for the same diode.

STMicroelectronics is introducing a new family of 150V POWER SCHOTTKY diodes, intended for 12V and more secondary rectification, in applications such as desktops, file servers or adaptors for notebook

This application note introduces the thermal runaway characteristic of the Schottky diodes used in OR-ing applications

The document describes the features and characteristics of SAVI™ Pool & Spa Lights, including 9 exciting color modes, brightest LED lighting technology, sealed unit with no maintenance required, etc.

This document introduces the application of Schottky diodes in Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) and how to select the appropriate Schottky diode. By using a simple tool provided by STMicroelectronics, designers can determine whether a given ST Schottky diode can withstand the avalanche energy under application conditions.

This application note describes how to use Schottky diodes in the avalanche region to improve the performance of the converter.

This application note discusses how to select optimal power devices and control circuitry for alternating plasma display panel applications, concentrating on power circuits used to sustain plasma discharge on the panel. Plasma Display Panels (PDP) are emerging as the leading candidate for large area wall- hanging color TVs and HDTVs [1.]. Its large screen, wide viewing angle, and thinness have given it the edge over conventional displays. Scan, Energy Recovery (ERC) and Sustain (discharge) circuits are important blocks that fulfill important energy saving requirements.

Galaxy Pool and Spa Lights are underwater LED lighting that allows you to easily control the lighting and create a nighttime oasis in your pool and spa.

AN2528 is an application note about a 6W SMPS, it is suitable for metering and other applications. The note introduces the design idea and circuit structure of the power supply, and gives detailed design details and test results.
