The ADC08060 is a low-power, 8-bit, monolithic analog-to-digital converter with an on-chip track-and-hold circuit. Optimized for low cost, low power, small size and ease of use, this product operates at conversion rates of 20 MSPS to 70 MSPS with outstanding dynamic performance over its full operating range while consuming just 1.3 mW per MHz of clock frequency. That's just 78 mW of power at 60 MSPS. Raising the PD pin puts the ADC08060 into a Power Down mode where it consumes just 1 mW. The unique architecture achieves 7.5 Effective Bits with 25 MHz input frequency. The excellent DC and AC characteristics of this device, together with its low power consumption and single +3V supply operation, make it ideally suited for many imaging and communications applications, including use in portable equipment. Furthermore, the ADC08060 is resistant to latch-up and the outputs are short-circuit proof. The top and bottom of the ADC08060's reference ladder are available for connections, enabling a wide range of input possibilities. The digital outputs are TTL/CMOS compatible with a separate output power supply pin to support interfacing with 3V or 2.5V logic. The output coding is straight binary and the digital inputs (CLK and PD) are TTL/CMOS compatible. The ADC08060 is offered in a 24-lead plastic package (TSSOP) and is specified over the industrial standard range.

This document describes the features and characteristics of MM5452 and MM5453 liquid crystal display drivers, including CMOS metal gate low threshold enhancement mode devices, driving up to 32 segments of LCD, and cascaded operation capability.

The LM4128 precision voltage reference is a surface-mount package ideal for space critical applications. It eliminates the need for an external stabilizing capacitor and ensures stability with capacitive loads up to 10 µF, making it easy to use. Compared to shunt references, series references consume lower power since they don't have to idle the maximum possible load current under no load conditions. The LM4128 has a low quiescent current of 60 µA and a low dropout voltage of 400 mV, making it suitable for battery-powered solutions. It is available in four grades (A, B, C, and D) with varying initial accuracy and temperature coefficients.

LP3936 is a complete lighting management system designed for portable wireless applications. It contains a boost DC/DC converter, 4 white LED drivers to drive the main LCD panel backlight, 2 white LED drivers for sub-LCD panel and 1 set of RGB LED drivers. Both WLED groups have 8-bit programmable constant current drivers that are separately adjustable and matched to 1% (typ.). For efficient backlighting the backlight intensity can be adjusted using the 8-bit ADC with ambient light detection circuit. The RGB LED drivers are PWM-driven with programmable color, intensity and blinking patterns. In addition, they feature a FLASH function to support picture taking with camera- enabled cellular phones. An efficient magnetic boost converter provides the required bias operating from a single Li-Ion battery. The DC/DC con- verter output voltage is user programmable for adapting to different LED types and for efficiency optimization. All func- tions are software controllable through an I2C and MicroWire/SPI compatible interface and 16 internal regis- ters.

The ADC12DS080 is a high-performance, low-power 12-bit AD converter released by Analog Devices, using a differential architecture with a maximum sampling rate of 80MSPS.

The LM4940 is a 6W stereo audio power amplifier primarily designed for demanding applications in flat panel monitors and TVs. It is capable of delivering 6 watts per channel to a 4Ω load with less than 10% THD+N while operating on a 14.4VDC power supply. Boomer audio power amplifiers were designed specifically to provide high quality output power with a minimal amount of external components. The LM4940 does not require boot-strap capacitors or snubber circuits. Therefore, it is ideally suited for display applications requiring high power and mini- mal size. The LM4940 features a low-power consumption active-low shutdown mode. Additionally, the LM4940 features an inter- nal thermal shutdown protection mechanism along with short circuit protection. The LM4940 contains advanced pop & click circuitry that eliminates noises which would otherwise occur during turn-on and turn-off transitions. The LM4940 is a unity-gain stable and can be configured by external gain-setting resistors.

LMH0302 3Gbps HD/SD SDI Cable Driver is a chip designed for use in SMPTE 424M, SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 344M and SMPTE 259M serial digital video applications. It drives 75Ω transmission lines (Belden 1694A, Belden 8281 or equivalent) at data rates up to 2.97 Gbps. The chip provides two selectable slew rates for SMPTE 259M and SMPTE 424M / 292M compliance. The output driver can be powered down via the output driver enable pin. The chip is powered by a single 3.3V supply. Power consumption is typically 125 mW (SD mode) and 165 mW (HD mode). The chip is available in a 16-pin LLP package.

The LM3509 is a high efficiency current mode boost converter designed for driving white LED's and/or OLED displays. It offers dual current sinks and I2C compatible brightness control. The LM3509 can be configured as a constant current sink for driving series white LED's or as a feedback pin to set a constant output voltage for powering OLED panels. When configured as a dual output white LED bias supply, it adaptively regulates the supply voltage of the LED strings to maximize efficiency and ensure the current sinks remain in regulation. The maximum current per output can be set via a single external low power resistor. The LED current in each output can be independently adjusted from 0 to max current in 32 exponential steps using the I2C compatible interface. When configured as a white LED + OLED bias supply, the LM3509 can independently and simultaneously drive up to 5 white LED strings and provide a constant output voltage of up to 21V for OLED panels. Output over-voltage protection shuts down the device if VOUT rises above 21V, allowing for the use of small sized low voltage output capacitors. The LM3509 is offered in a small 10-pin thermally enhanced LLP package and operates over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.

The LM3595 is a parallel white-LED driver that can drive four white LEDs. It can supply a total output current of 100mA over an input voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V. The amount of constant current sourced to the outputs is user selectable using one external sense resistor. LM3595 typically draws 0.03µA when placed in shutdown, and 200µA when operating in the no-load condition. If any of the outputs are not used, leave the pin(s) unconnected. Brightness can be controlled by both analog and PWM techniques. A voltage between 0V and 3V may be applied to the BRGT pin to vary the current. Output current will linearly track the voltage applied to the BRGT pin. An active-low level must be present on the BR-ON pin for analog brightness control to be disabled. Alternatively, a PWM signal can be applied to the EN pin to vary the perceived brightness of the LED. The LM3595 uses an active-high enable level. The LM3595 is available in National’s LLP-10 package.

The LM2738 is a high frequency, low power, 1.5A step-down DC/DC converter from TI that is available in an 8-pin LLP or 8-pin eMSOP package. It provides all the active functions for local DC/DC conversion with fast transient response and accurate regula- tion in the smallest possible PCB area. With a minimum of external components, the LM2738 is easy to use.

The LM117 series of adjustable 3-terminal positive voltage regulators is capable of supplying in excess of 1.5A over a 1.2V to 37V output range. They are exceptionally easy to use and require only two external resistors to set the output voltage. Further, both line and load regulation are better than standard fixed regulators. Also, the LM117 is packaged in standard transistor packages which are easily mounted and handled. In addition to higher performance than fixed regulators, the LM117 series offers full overload protection available only in IC's. Included on the chip are current limit, thermal overload protection and safe area protection. All overload protection circuitry remains fully functional even if the adjustment terminal is disconnected. Normally, no capacitors are needed unless the device is situated more than 6 inches from the input filter capacitors in which case an input bypass is needed. An optional output capacitor can be added to improve transient response. The adjustment terminal can be bypassed to achieve very high ripple rejection ratios which are difficult to achieve with standard 3-terminal regulators. Besides replacing fixed regulators, the LM117 is useful in a wide variety of other applications. Since the regulator is “floating” and sees only the input-to-output differential voltage, supplies of several hundred volts can be regulated as long as the maximum differential voltage is not exceeded.

The LM34 series are precision integrated-circuit temperature sensors, whose output voltage is linearly proportional to the Fahrenheit temperature. The LM34 does not require any external calibration or trimming to provide typical accuracies of ±1⁄2˚F at room temperature and ±11⁄2˚F over a full −50 to +300˚F tempera- ture range.
