The ST5R00 series is a low power step-up DC/DC converter from STMicroelectronics. It has a wide input voltage range and adjustable output voltage, and is suitable for use in battery powered equipment.

The ST5R00 is a highly efficient VFM step-up DC/DC converter designed for small, low input voltage or battery-powered systems. It features ultra-low quiescent supply current and can accept a positive input voltage from the start-up voltage to the output voltage, converting it to a higher output voltage in the range of 2.5V to 5V. The ST5R00 combines ultra-low quiescent supply current and high efficiency to maximize battery life. Its high switching frequency and internally limited peak inductor current allow the use of small, low-cost inductors. Only three external components are required: an inductor, a diode, and an output capacitor. The ST5R00 is suitable for battery-powered equipment that requires low noise, low ripple, and ultra-low supply current. It is available in very small packages: SOT23-5L and SOT-89. Typical applications include pagers, cameras and video cameras, cellular telephones, wireless telephones, palmtop computers, battery backup supplies, and battery-powered equipment.
