This document describes the features and characteristics of the P83Cx80 and P87C380 microcontrollers, which are designed for monitors with DDC interface, auto-sync detection, and sync processing.
The Philips P83Cx80 and P87C380 are 8‑bit microcontrollers designed for monitor applications. They integrate an 80C51‑compatible core, on‑chip oscillator, DDC1/2B/2AB/2B+ interfaces, and hardware mode detection for HSYNC/VSYNC signals.
The devices provide extensive analog and digital I/O, including ten 8‑bit PWM outputs, one 14‑bit PWM output, a 4‑bit ADC with two channels, and four 8‑bit DAC channels. Power management features include watchdog timer, idle and power‑down modes, and operation over a 4.4‑5.5 V supply range.
