TPS777xx and TPS778xx are designed to have a fast transient response and be stable with a 10-µF low ESR capacitors. This combination provides high performance at a reasonable cost.
The TPS777xx family are 750‑mA low‑dropout voltage regulators with fast transient response, available in fixed‑voltage (1.5 V, 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3.3 V) and adjustable versions. They feature a reset output (TPS777xx) or power‑good output (TPS778xx), low quiescent current and optional sleep mode.
The datasheet provides absolute maximum ratings, recommended operating conditions, electrical characteristics, pin descriptions for SOIC and TSSOP packages, typical application circuits and timing diagrams for the RESET and PG functions.
| Typical dropout voltage at 750 mA | 260 mV |
|---|---|
| Output voltage tolerance | ±2 % |
| Input voltage range | 0.3 V to 13.5 V |
The typical dropout voltage is 260 mV when delivering 750 mA.
In sleep mode the quiescent current drops to about 1 µA at 25 °C.
The RESET output initiates a reset in microcomputer and microprocessor systems when an undervoltage condition is detected.
The maximum power‑good (PG) voltage is 16.5 V.
